Submitting Art For Print

Company Logos

When providing your Company logo keep in mind what you supply us with is what you will see printed. We are able to scan a copy of your logo but we always prefer to receive a file. Scanning is ok in some cases but in others you can loose detail and clarity.

If your company does not have a logo, we can help. Our professional graphic design staff would be more than happy to help you brand your company by creating an innovative look for your companies image.

NOTE: If you want us to scan a PRINTED piece, be aware that the scan will show the ink dots that were used in the printing process resulting in a poor quality image.

Digital Pictures

Most low-end digital cameras cannot produce a high enough resolution for four color printing. If you must use one, put the settings at the highest quality setting possible.

Acceptable digital file formats:

  • JPG (Maximum Quality - at least 300 dpi approximately at the finished size)
  • EPS
  • TIFF (300-350 dpi)
  • PDF (Prepress Quality - ex. PDF/X-1A 2001)
  • Microsoft Word & Excel(TEXT ONLY)
  • Microsoft Publisher (NOT PREFERRED)
Unacceptable digital file formats:
  • GIF (Intended for Web not enough colors for print.)
  • Works
  • Word Perfect
  • Any file produced with a non-professional design program such as Paint.
  • NOTHING you got from a website (The resolution of these Images is far TOO LOW for print.)

We are aware that some printing companies will accept these files produced in these programs. We don't accept them simply because we want your final product to be exceptional, not average. Unfortunately these programs don't export the images at a high enough quality to produce the quality expected from an award winning printer.

Scans

Scan photos as close to the finished size as possible.

Resolution should be 300-350 dpi. Scans at lower resolutions will print fuzzy and scans at higher resolutions may be cumbersome as files are large with no added quality. One Color Bitmap images should be scanned at 1200 dpi.

Your best option here is to let us do the work for you. By sending your photo or image in to us one of our professional designers can scan the image for you and you can be sure your getting the best quality.

NOTE: When scanning from a PRINTED piece, the scan will show ink dots that result in a poor quality image. Try to use original art whenever possible.
